Re-investigation of the aerial parts of H. stoechas (L.) afforded five further benzofuran derivatives and 10 sesquiterpene hydrocarbons in addition to the previously isolated compounds. The structure of these compounds was established on basis of spectral methods and comparison with reference compounds. The different fractions of extract were tested for their anti-inflammatory activity to show statistically significant results.
