On continuation of the study on the roots of an unusual member of the Cucurbitaceae family, Acanthosicyos horridus Well. ex Hook. f, known as nara or naras; the present work reports the isolation of 24- methylenecycloartanone and (after acetylation) chondrillasteryl glucoside acetate for the first time from this plant. The structures of these compounds, were confirmed by using spectroscopic methods including IR, 1H and 13C NMR and Mass spectra.
